President Chuck Berger presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Professor Walter Judd in recognition of his outstanding support of the St Lucie River Chapter—Sons of the American Revolution.

St Lucie River Chapter President Chuck Berger and Registrar and Second Vice President Bill Sander attended Steve Laster’s Memorial Service on Saturday, October 26th at Steve’s home. While at the memorial they swore in Steve’s grandson, Blaine White, as the newest member of our Chapter. Blaine was approved the day Steve died. Diane, Steve’s wife donated Steve’s Rosette which was pinned on Blaine by his mother Patricia.

There were approximately one hundred people present at the service.

Professor Walter Judd is the guest speaker for the November 2d meeting. The topic of the presentation is the Treaty of Paris and the recognition of the United States.  Professor Judd will also discuss a number of individuals, in particular John Jay and Benjamin Franklin.

This will be Professor Judd’s third presentation to the St Lucie River Chapter – Sons of the American Revolution.

The St Lucie River Chapter normally meets on the first Saturday of each month, October through May. There have been exceptions this year due to reasons beyond our control.

  1. The October meeting was moved to the second Saturday because of the BOM meeting in Kissimmee.
  2. The December meeting will be on the second Saturday, December 14th. Pearl Harbor Day, December 7th falls on the first Saturday and many of our members are participating in activities honoring those that died on the “Day of Infamy” 78 years ago.

In September of each year a joint meeting with several DAR Chapters is held during Constitution Week.
